How VANIQA Works

This text is replaced by the Flash movie.

How does It work?

VANIQA works right at the source of the problem, in the hair follicle. It is thought that VANIQA works during the growth stage of the hair cycle by blocking an enzyme in the follicle that is necessary for hair to grow.

How do I use it?

Use VANIQA after cleansing and before applying moisturizer, sunscreen or cosmetics. Apply a thin layer of VANIQA on the affected area of your face twice a day, until it's absorbed into your skin.

You may want to use VANIQA once in the morning and once at night as part of your daily skin care routine, since you should wait 8 hours between applications, and at least 4 hours before washing your face again. Remember, you should continue to use your current method of hair removal.

How long do I use it?

VANIQA does not work instantly and it takes time for results to become visible, but you should see improvement in as early as eight weeks. Using VANIQA doesn't mean you don't have to deal with unwanted facial hair anymore. VANIQA complements your current method of hair removal by reducing the rate of hair growth, so over time you should be removing UFH less frequently.

If you don't apply VANIQA for an extended period of time, hair will begin growing at the same rate as it used to grow. Once you resume using VANIQA twice a day, everyday, hair growth should slow again.

Are there any side effects?

In clinical trials, some women reported mild and temporary skin irritations such as redness, stinging, burning, tingling, acne or rash. Only 2% of women discontinued their participation in studies due to side effects related to VANIQA.

If you experience any of the above symptoms for an extended period of time while using VANIQA, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
